Yoga for Motherhood
Yoga is built for motherhood. Becoming a mother alters every single part of us, destroying all sense of who we once were as women and replaces every piece with something new. This can be really disintegrating and chaotic. In my favorite definition of yoga, it is a practice “to bring together that which has been torn apart”. When we have a baby, we lose a lot of who we knew ourselves to be and this is an invitation to bring together all the old and new pieces into a powerful new being, a mother.
Yoga designed to teach us who we are. It allows us the time and space to learn about ourselves and our automatic reactions, giving us the opportunity to explore whether those things serve us well or not.
Throughout motherhood, we are called to better understand ourselves as our children provide plenty of opportunities to react too.
